Telegraphic Office Calls

on the B&O Railroad in 1928

Included here is an alphabetical listing of office calls in use on the B&O in 1928. The information was provided from an agreement book of the collection of Dick Stair. All offices shown in that book are listed, not just the towers. An office call was a one or two letter code used to identify stations in Morse telegraph transmissions. Each office had its own indigenous code that would not be duplicated with any other office within its particular transmission circuit or dispatching district. Operating divisions shown are those that existed on the B&O in 1928.
