Somerset Road

SOMERSET ROAD (United Railways & Electric/BTC) - Baltimore City. University Parkway east of Roland Avenue. Brick waiting shelter. A plaque on the shelter reads: "This pavilion is the only remaining of a series of trolley stops for the Number 10 streetcar which ran on tracks in the median along University Parkway and Roland Avenue until about 1950. The trolley stops were erected by the Roland Park Company and the Maryland Insurance Group for the comfort and convenience of those who lived and worked in Roland Park. This trolley stop has been landscaped by the Maryland Insurance Group in 1992 in memory of Marvin Wingfield Ham 1923-1991, past president of the company and longtime Roland Park resident."
